About the Lessons

In-person lessons

Olivia uses gentle touch and words to guide you into a new awareness of your balance and co-ordination.  Through simple everyday movements and positions, such as sitting, standing, bending and lying down you will uncover the hidden habit patterns and discover more ease

You will learn to observe yourself in activity.  As your awareness grows you will become able to notice and prevent excess tensions that can hinder optimum functioning both in pursuits requiring high skill levels such as playing a sport or an instrument, and in daily activities such as walking, washing up or sitting at your desk.

You will be given guidance and instruction in how to practise the lying down work at home. Home practise supports and affirms the release you have experienced in the lessons.

Please wear loose comfortable clothing and be suitably covered for lying down work.  Be prepared to remove your shoes and wear or bring socks. (See FAQs)

Online lessons

Online lessons via Zoom are proving to be a highly effective means of teaching Alexander Technique

Instruction takes place verbally and through mirroring.  Olivia will guide you in deepening your awareness in activity.  By applying the thought processes and games we will explore, will find that you sensory appreciation improves and that you will start to notice yourself sitting, standing and moving more efficiently.

Guided lying down work will enable you to release excess tension in a different relationship to gravity.

Please wear loose comfortable clothing and be suitably covered for lying down work.  Be prepared to remove your shoes and wear or bring socks.
